Workshops

*  Each workshop session is limited to a small group of students, with accomplished instructors. This is to insure a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of metal art, in a fast paced incredibly fun environment with total safety.

*  NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY: We encourage newcomers! 

*  We have had folks from 7-85 come through the workshop since we opened our doors to the public in 2016. 95% of everyone who comes in has no previous metal art experience and everyone always has an amazing time! All that is required is the desire to learn. We have Individuals, Couples, Families and Big Groups come through, and we take pride in taylor-fitting each workshop session to the needs of our students. 

*  You will have access to over $100k in tools and equipment that we use in all our commission work. Tools and techniques you will learn to use include: Mig and Spot welders, Plasma Cutters, Multiple Breaks, Shears, Grinders, Drill Presses, and other forming and molding equipment. You will also learn multiple coloration, painting, and patina methods.

*  All materials will be provided for you metal and otherwise. They will include a variety of metals like: steel, iron, tin, copper, and aluminum. You will also be provided with all the safety gear you need including, glasses, gloves, work shirts and aprons.

*  After you become skilled with all the equipment, tools, and materials, you will begin your art piece. With hands-on guidance and assistance from the Van Dorens, you will create your own work of metal art to take home when you leave the workshop.

*  The Van Doren Metal Art Workshops take place in our huge 2000 square foot commercial studio, in the Colonia of La Cañada/Los Frailes, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It is a quick 10 minute taxi ride from Centro. This is a one of a kind, metal sculpture studio experience unlike anything else in the world.

*  We offer 1 and 2 day classes both for beginners and then for returners. These sessions range from private individual, couple, family, small group, and large group workshops.

* In terms of Cost there are many options, starting at just $2900MX per student per day for larger groups. Our session costs are all inclusive and include all materials metal and otherwise, a locally sourced organic lunch with wine pairing in the middle of every session day, and of course your incredible piece of art to take with you from the workshop.

* In terms of Payment we accept multiple forms including PayPal, Zelle, and Currency to make it really easy for everyone to register quickly and securely for the sessions.
